Brazilian Jiu Jitsu is a martial art, combat sport and self defence system which focusses mainly on grappling, ground based fighting and submission. Brazilian Jiu Jitsu is not only an enjoyable and highly addictive sport but its a useful life skill which encourages an active healthy lifestyle, increasing practitioners strength, fitness and confidence.
The BJJ scene is rapidly growing for adults (male and female, fighting is not just for boys!) and for children with competitions being help almost every weekend thought the year. Neto provides tuition in group classes as well as private sessions. His teaching style suits both those who are new to the game and are looking for a new hobby and those who are looking for a dedicated coach to push them in competition.
The Gauntlet Fight Academy offers Brazilian Jiu Jitsu classes twice daily, and is the only academy in West London to offer over 10 Brazilian Jiu Jitsu classes per week, to fit in with your schedule. Head Coach Neto Nunes started training in Brazil in 1998. He earned his Black Belt in 2009 under Henrique Lima after eleven years of competative training and gaining an impressive showcase of titles and medals from various prestigious National and International competitions.
Neto has trained in various martial arts including Judo and MMA and has trained with some of the biggest and best known names in the game.
As as well as refereeing for two of the largest competition organisers in Europe, IBJJF and UAEJJF, Neto is also proud to be part of one of the biggest and most successful Brazilian Jiu Jitsu teams, Checkmat.
