🥋 London’s Homegrown BJJ Champions Make Their Mark on the World Stage

Updated: Jan 10

The Gauntlet Fight Academy in Ealing, one of London’s leading Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ) schools, continues to make waves across local and international competitions. With a growing team of talented athletes — many of whom began as complete beginners at our academy have once again made us proud, as we celebrate a series of remarkable achievements over the past few weeks.

🧒 Two Gold Medals at the ibjjf Kids Europeans No-Gi Championship

At the Kids Europeans IBJJF No-Gi Championship, our young Gauntlet athletes brought home two gold medals, and two silver medals showcasing the technical skill, confidence, and discipline developed right here at our academy in London.

What makes these wins even more meaningful is that most of these athletes started their Jiu-Jitsu journeys at The Gauntlet Fight Academy as total beginners at the tender ages of between 4 - 7. Through consistent training, expert instruction, and an encouraging environment, they’ve grown into true champions.

Our kids BJJ program in Ealing is designed to build confidence, focus, and respect — and these results show what’s possible when hard work and dedication meets world-class coaching. We're delighted to be bringing home the IBJJF Trophy, and we're looking forward to showing it off in the gym!

Closer to home, our team delivered another outstanding performance at a local London Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu event, earning four more gold medals  across multiple divisions.

For many of our students, this was their first competition experience, and they rose to the challenge with determination and heart. These results reflect not just skill on the mats, but the strong sense of teamwork and growth that defines The Gauntlet Fight Academy.

Again, most of these medalists are homegrown success stories — individuals who began training from scratch under the guidance of Head Coach Neto Nunes and have steadily developed into accomplished competitors.

🌍 PROFESSOR Neto Nunes and 12 Gauntlet Athletes Compete at the AJP World Pro in Abu Dhabi

Our Head Coach, Professor Neto Nunes, is currently in Abu Dhabi leading a talented squad of 12 Gauntlet athletes — a mix of adults and juniors — at the AJP World Pro, one of the most prestigious tournaments in global Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu.

Competing at this level is a dream for many martial artists, and our team’s presence on the world stage highlights the quality and dedication found at The Gauntlet. Each athlete embodies the academy’s philosophy: discipline, Respect Above All, and the relentless pursuit of improvement. Whatever the result, simply arriving at this level of competition with all the perseverance and sacrifice it involves, is an achievement to be celebrated!

💪 From Beginners to BJJ Champions: Building Success from the Ground Up

At The Gauntlet Fight Academy in London, we believe anyone can achieve greatness through Jiu-Jitsu. Many of our recent medalists started as white belts with no prior martial arts experience — and today, they’re competing and winning at national and international levels. Some have been through incredible personal challenges and journeys, including transformational weight loss and lifestyle change.

This is what sets our academy apart: we don’t just train athletes; we build champions from the ground up. Our structured programs for kids, teens, and adults guide students through every stage of their journey, from mindset to skill set, from fundamentals to elite competition training.

If you’ve ever thought about starting Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu in London, there’s no better place to begin your journey than at The Gauntlet Fight Academy — where passion meets progress, and every student has the potential to succeed.

🌟 The Future is Bright for Team Gauntlet

As Coach Neto and our athletes continue to represent us at the AJP World Pro in Abu Dhabi, the entire Gauntlet community is cheering them on with pride. No matter the results, the dedication and spirit of this team already make them champions in every sense.

These successes are a powerful reminder of what’s possible when hard work, expert coaching, and a supportive community come together.

The journey doesn’t end here — it’s just the beginning.
